Abstract: Torsion-resistant flexible cables for new energy wind power generation use aluminum alloy conductors instead of copper conductors, which have technical and economic advantages. In the paper, variation of fracture behavior, mechanical properties and electrical properties in aluminum alloy conductors after low-temperature torsion test were studied. Through innovation of conductor materials and processes, the number of low-temperature torsion test was increased, and low-temperature application life of aluminum alloy conductors was improved. Results indicated that replacing copper wire with aluminum alloy wire was technically feasible, more economical, and could be used as a reference for manufacturers and users.
