Abstract: The research status and existing problems of power cables at home and abroad were summarized. The development of HVDC cables,cable status evaluation,calculation of temperature field and ampacity,electromagnetic field characteristics of HTS cables and accessories were emphatically analyzed. Aiming at the main problems existing in the development of power cables,some countermeasures and suggestions were put forward.
