Abstract: Air conditioner outdoor unit connection cable is usually made of rubber sheathed flexible cable. During processing, the cable needs to be cut into short sections and terminals shall be crimped after stripping. However, in actual sheath stripping process, the end face was often uneven, which affects the appearance. By adjusting the amount of crosslinking agents and precipitated silica in the formula, elongation at break and tear strength of the sheath could be reduced, and the appearance of the end face could be improved. After formula adjustment, taking 100 parts of chlorinated polyethylene as reference, when the addition amount of crosslinking agent and precipitated silica were 5.3 parts and 6 parts, elongation at break and tear strength of the sheath were 315% and 2.9 N·mm⁻¹. At this time, the sheath could have a good peel appearance and all properties could meet the standard requirements.
