Comparative Analysis on Domestic and Foreign Submarine Power Cable Construction Standards

By comparing and analyzing nearly 10 standards related to submarine power cable construction, the similarities and differences of standards for submarine cable laying, submarine cable protection and submarine cable repair were concluded. And the analysis found that different standards had different requirements for submarine cable construction. The requirements were quite different and need further unification and improvement. The following suggestions are obtained: Domestic specifications provide specific parameters for convenience of construction workers. Foreign specifications determine relevant technical parameters based on risk assessment methods, which are more reasonable and flexible. In addition, there are still few relevant standards for submarine cable crossing, and corresponding research needs to be carried out to provide technical guidance for submarine cable construction(15 references cited).
