Simulation Research on Performance of Overhead Conductors

The performance changes of overhead conductors as the key components of the transmission line determine the safety of the grid. The technology of simulation can simulate the actual state of the overhead conductor during production,installation and operation. It can also analyze the properties changes of the conductor. This paper reviews the research progress of simulation technology in mechanical、thermal、mechanical-thermal and electrical-thermal simulation of overhead conductor,analyzes the problems and shortcomings of these studies and proposes the direction of simulation research on the performances of the conductor.
