    Characteristics and Application Fields of New Medium Voltage Intelligent Fire-Resistant Cables

    • To address limitations of traditional medium-voltage fire-resistant cables, including insufficient fire resistance, low combustion ratings, and lack of intelligent control, a structural optimization scheme for new medium-voltage intelligent fire-resistant cables was proposed. Through integration of innovative designs such as saddle-shaped filling, intelligent optical fiber temperature measurement system, digital terminal and ceramic oxygen barrier layer, combined with halogen-free low-smoke flame-retardant sheath material and antifreeze-proof nylon tube nitrogen active cooling technology, fire resistance of cables, Class B1 combustion characteristics and power transmission efficiency were comprehensively improved. Tests results showed that optimized cable withstood flames of 950 to 1 000 °C for over 90 min, functions of real-time temperature monitoring and active fire prevention were achieved, operation stability of cables in fire environment was significantly improved, which could meet application requirements of high safety demand scenarios such as buildings, rail transit, and power systems, and provide reliable technical solution for electrical fire prevention and control.
