Simulation Study of Abnormal Temperature Rise on Sheath Surface Caused by Cable Stacking and Laying

    • Stacked cables may experience abnormal temperature rise and furtherly lead to insulation thermal breakdown and other faults. By simulating cable laying status, temperature rise on surface of cable sheath was tested, and data at an ambient temperature of 45 ℃ was simulated using multi-physics field simulation software COMSOL, finally simulation and test results were verified. Research showed that results of laying test, simulation, and theoretical calculation were consistent, and relevant analysis could provide some reference for cable installation and laying.
