Design and Verification of Intermittent Oil Coating Equipment for Optical Cable Metal Belt

    • Intermittent oil coating equipment for metal strips of optical cables was designed, with the aim of verifying water-blocking performance of stranded optical cable metal strips through intermittent grease coating method by adjusting the device parameters. Coating roller of the equipment adopted local oil groove structure and achieved uniform grease coating through closed-loop control during speed regulation of production line. Results showed that there was no leakage of oil paste when return oil gap was 3~4 mm. When oil groove depth of oil roller was 0.6 mm, it could be used for metal strip with the width of 20~32 mm; while oil groove depth was 0.7~0.8 mm, it could be used for metal tape with the width of 48 mm, and the coated metal tape of optical cables had no material detachment or water leakage, which could verify the feasibility of intermittent oil coating equipment.
