Analysis of Extrusion Challenges in Polyether-Based Polyurethane Sheaths for Charging Pile Cables

    • Most charging pile cables adopt polyether-type thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) sheaths. Focusing on common surface quality problems of TPU sheaths, influencing factors were analyzed by combining material characteristics and extrusion mechanism of TPU sheaths, and relevant solutions were also proposed and verified in practice. Results showed that TPU was highly sensitive to extrusion temperature, extrusion pressure and shear rate. Through solutions to these problems, quality problems of TPU extrusion could be significantly reduced, providing theoretical basis and practical guidance for the application of TPU in charging pile cables.
