Abstract
Based on single and double layer armored smooth transition of submarine cable structure and the performance of the system analysis and test. Firstly, by comparing the electrical properties and mechanical properties of the two kinds of armored structures, the applicability of the two kinds of armored structures in different Marine environments (such as shallow sea, deep sea and complex seabed terrain) is studied, and the production trial for the single and double layer armored flexible transition submarine cables is carried out and the electrical and mechanical properties are tested according to relevant standards. The experimental results show that the mechanical tensile properties and electrical characteristics of the single and double layer flexible transition armor structure fully meet the requirements of the target environmental conditions. Changing the submarine cable armor from single armor to double armor in partial laying environment can ensure that the cable shows better mechanical protection and durability under deep sea high pressure, strong ocean current and external impact environment, and the cost is greater than the overall change to double armor. The research in this paper provides theoretical basis and experimental support for the selection of submarine cable armor structure, and has important guiding significance for the practical engineering application of submarine cable.
