    Development of 0.66/1.14 kV Coal Shearer Optical-Electrical Composite Metal Shielded Mining Soft Cable

    • In order to develop a composite cable integrating power transmission and communication functions for coal shearer, a multi-functional cable design was proposed by incorporating an optical fiber structure into traditional coal shearer cable, thereby reducing multiple cable laying operations in mines. A fusion structure of a high-temperature optical cable and coal shearer cable was adopted. Cable materials, optical fiber materials, and their structural design were studied, and key control points of production process were discussed. Experimental results indicated that the developed cable could met Cables for Coal MinePart 4: Flexible Cables with Metallic Screen for Use with Coal Cutters of Rated Voltages Up to and Including 1.9/3.3 kV (MT 818.4—2009), and the optical part could met YD/T 1258 series standards.
