Practice and Importance Analysis of Strain Measurement in Optical Cable Operation and Maintenance

    • BOTDR distributed optical fiber sensing technology has emerged as one of the focal points of research and attention in the field of optical fiber sensing in recent years. BOTDR technology can utilize optical fibers as sensors to measure real-time strain data, strain change trends, and rates of target objects, and promptly provide early warning signals, enabling timely preventive measures to be taken and avoiding more serious consequences. This article presents practical application cases of BOTDR in communication optical cable lines, and elaborates on how to utilize the BOTDR+OTDR approach for precise operation and maintenance of communication lines, ensuring communication security.
