Abstract
To address problems of inadequate shear force and excessively high temperature in compression section encountered by traditional screws during extrusion process of blending modified polypropylene (PP), length-diameter ratio, cooling device, and processing technology of the screw were optimized through shear theory analysis, simulation parameter calculation, and comparative experiments before and after modification. Results indicated that high-stability and precise control of temperature in various zones were achieved by the modified screw, and improvements were obtained in plasticizing performance and extrusion stability. Beneficial references were provided for the optimized design of screws for blending modified PP, and more reliable technical support was offered for the production of PP cables.
