Research Status of Humanoid Robot Cables

    • Humanoid robots are regarded as one of the frontier development directions in the field of artificial intelligence. Their operation is dependent on high-frequency multi-joint movements and synchronous transmission of power and signals, so stringent requirements are imposed on operating condition adaptability of core functional components. As core carrier for power supply and signal interaction, performance adaptability of humanoid robot cables under typical operating conditions such as high-frequency dynamic bending and compact space layout directly determines the robot's motion accuracy, long-term operational stability, and service life. In the paper, humanoid robot cables are classified into three categories: power cables, control cables and data cables. Electrical and mechanical performance requirements to be met by the three types of cables are elaborated. In the meantime, structure of humanoid robot cables, which is composed of conductors, insulation layers, shielding layers and sheaths, is systematically reviewed. Material types and process innovations of each structural component are summarized respectively. Current status of technical specifications and future prospects of cables are further clarified, which provides important reference for subsequent technological research and development of humanoid robot cables, as well as standardized development of the industry.
